My name is Dom Lepore, and I’m a writer.
I’m starting my own newsletter, primarily hosted on my website. I have good reasons to do it this way, beyond my stubborn artistic vision.
The ongoing enshittification of the internet has made delivering art directly to an audience more necessary than ever before. As I hone my writing practice, it makes sense to take this opportunity too.
In other words, there is no distance between us.
I still can’t get over the writing I’ve done for many cherished publications. Some pieces have involved speaking to my heroes. Your support helped make all of that possible.
Now, the freedom to publish on my own means I can write about anything, even the things I can’t find a home for. This can be whatever I want it to be.
Since the beginning, I’ve combined my music and writing interests to illustrate what’s going on in my head. Over the years, that has never waned and has taken me to many unexpected places.
With this new endeavour, I hope to nurture my existing audience and watch it grow as I meet more creatives, local and beyond. Their stories are just as important as their creations.
It’s nice to put a face to the name; that’s what I hope to do here. I hope you’ll enjoy what resonates with me. More to come very soon, from me to you.
